LONDON FROM ABOVE
A Different Perspective on London
After our visit to Soane, we climbed aboard an open-top bus and began to see London from a different angle.

It was supposed to be a way to relax and fill the hours before check-in.
Instead, it became our first moving viewfinder.

London unfolded in layers — stone façades, church towers, monuments, bridges, streets and people moving through the spaces between them.

The city was no longer something we were simply passing through.

We were beginning to see London photographically.

Our guide was exceptional, pointing out details and stories that would have been easy to miss from the street. Every few minutes, another composition appeared, disappeared, and was replaced by another.

By the time we returned to Hazlitt’s, the purpose of the day had changed.
We had not come to London to check places off a list.
We had come to look.
To see.
To absorb.
And tomorrow, we would begin photographing in earnest.
London — Day One
Arrival. Observation. First impressions.
The adventure begins with seeing.
